2027: Join Obi in NDC, Fayose urges Atiku after court ruling

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, has called on Atiku Abubakar to forge an alliance with Peter Obi aimed at removing the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.

Fayose made the appeal in a video shared on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, shortly after a Federal High Court ruling threw the ADC’s leadership and Atiku’s candidacy into turmoil.

Justice Peter Lifu’s judgment nullified the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress and voided the process that produced Atiku as the party’s presidential flag-bearer for the 2027 elections.

In the video, Fayose urged Atiku to examine the ruling closely, saying he would find something suspicious in it. He also claimed the judiciary has lost its independence, criticising young Nigerians for being more focused on online drama than national issues.

“Atiku should go and study that judgment very well; he will notice something fishy,” he said.

“Our judiciary is no longer independent. Look at our youths; they are more interested in online sagas,” he said.

He then appealed directly to Atiku to link up with Peter Obi under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and work towards pushing the APC out of government.

“Please, Atiku, this is the time to join forces with Peter Obi in the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, to pursue the All Progressives Congress, APC, out of power,” he said.
