The Director-General (D-G) of All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), Abdulaziz Yari, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
Yari attributed Tinubu’s expected victory to divine intervention, saying the same God who gave the President victory in the 2023 election would do so again in 2027.
The former Governor of Zamfara State spoke with journalists in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where he joined Tinubu and other Nigerians to perform Umrah, the lesser pilgrimage.
His comments came shortly after Tinubu, during a media chat in Saudi Arabia on Friday, said he was relying on God for his re-election bid.
Yari praised the President for praying for Nigeria and its citizens, describing the gesture as a demonstration of true leadership.
“That’s what makes a leader. He first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian, and noted that God selects leaders,” Yari said.
He added: “God did it in 2023, He will do it again. Tinubu depends on Allah to do it for him as He did in 2023.”
Yari also expressed optimism that Tinubu’s performance in office, alongside his reliance on God, would strengthen his chances of securing a second term.
