The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general elections available online for Nigerians to verify their details.
The online publication allows registered voters to check whether their names and photographs appear correctly in the register.
The register can be accessed via INEC’s dedicated portal at https://display.inecnigeria.org/.
INEC uploaded the preliminary list on Monday, October 26, following concerns over its availability after the physical inspection exercise conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15.
The Commission said the online platform complements the physical display to make it easier for voters to inspect the list for their polling units.
Steps to check your details:
1. Visit INEC’s voter register portal
Open a browser on your phone or computer and go to https://display.inecnigeria.org/.
2. Sign in to the platform
Follow the instructions on the portal to sign in and gain access to the preliminary register.
3. Select your polling location
Choose your state, local government area, ward and polling unit to access the register for your voting location. You may also use your polling unit code where available.
4. Search for your name
Check the list displayed for your polling unit. The platform shows names and photographs of registered voters. You can use alphabetical navigation to locate entries by surname.
5. Confirm your details
Ensure your name and photograph are correctly displayed. Check carefully for missing names or errors.
Voters who discover errors or omissions should contact their nearest INEC office for guidance on submitting a complaint or seeking clarification.
INEC said the online viewing portal is for inspection of the preliminary register only and does not allow users to edit details, register as new voters, transfer registration or replace Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.
The Commission said it is processing claims and objections from the inspection exercise ahead of certification and publication of the final register on December 15, 2026.
For other services such as updating information, transferring registration, replacing lost or damaged PVCs or checking PVC collection centres, voters can use INEC’s Continuous Voter Registration portal at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/, although INEC says the CVR exercise is currently closed.
INEC urged eligible voters to stay informed through its official channels.
