The Federal government’s newly launched consumer credit scheme for digital devices is officially accepting applications from Nigerians seeking affordable, credit-based access to laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
Implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, the initiative is designed to help citizens own essential work and learning tools through structured, spread-out payments rather than heavy upfront costs.

Who qualifies for the current pilot?
While the application intake is broad, the initial 1,000-laptop pilot batch is strictly limited to active fellows of the Federal government’s 3MTT programme.
Initial device distributions have already commenced in Abuja, where early beneficiaries received units, with subsequent phases expanding to qualified fellows across other states.
- Although the application form opens up fields for multiple technical talent pipelines including ALX, AltSchool, and HNG Internship, CREDICORP has yet to publicly outline precise interest rates, repayment tenures, or broader civil-servant rollout dates for subsequent batches.
