- Recover assault knife
The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old woman, Mrs. Nwoko Gift, for attempting to harm her 12-year-old house help with a knife.
According to the Abia State Police Command, the woman was seen in a viral video on social media attempting to kill the victim identified as Miss Ebony Chimamanda.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Command,
Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said the incident occurred on July 5, 2026.
DSP Chinaka explained that Mrs. Nwoko Gift, who hails from Ehime Mbano, Imo State, but resides at IBB Housing Estate, Umuahia, on the same date attempted to kill Miss Ebo Chimamanda, who lives with her, because she allegedly failed to perform the chore given to her by the suspect (Gift) before setting out to the market.
The Police Command also said that investigations revealed that the suspect had repeatedly beaten and threatened to kill the young Miss Chimamanda.
The command condemned the actions of the suspect and advised members of the public to desist from such acts, adding that anyone who engages in such violent conduct should be reported to the police.
