Iran warns UK over support for US-Israeli military strikes

Iran has issued a stern warning to the United Kingdom (UK) over its decision to support United States–Israel military operations, cautioning that the move could put British citizens at risk.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, accused UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer of exposing the country to potential danger by permitting the use of British military bases for operations linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

In a statement shared on social media, Araghchi said the decision effectively draws the UK into direct participation in the conflict.

“The vast majority of the British people don’t want any part in the Israel–US war on Iran,” he stated.

“Ignoring his own people, Mr. Starmer is putting British lives in danger by allowing UK bases to be used for aggression against Iran. Iran will exercise its right to self-defence.”

The warning follows reports that the UK government granted the United States access to key military installations to support operations targeting Iranian-linked threats, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz.

The strategic waterway remains a critical global oil transit route, and heightened military activity in the area has raised fears of disruption to international energy supplies.

The development reportedly came after US President Donald Trump criticised NATO allies for what he described as insufficient military support in securing the corridor.

Tensions across the region continue to escalate, with major world powers taking firm positions in the conflict. Analysts warn that the situation could spiral into a broader confrontation if diplomatic efforts fail.

There are growing concerns over the wider security implications, particularly the risk of retaliatory actions and the potential impact on global economic stability.
