Police operatives in Imo State have raided the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) camp aka “Mother Valley” and killed two suspected members of the group.
The also recovered over 300 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the operation.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, confirmed the raid at a news briefing held at the command’s headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday.
Bosso said the operatives, in synergy with the military and other sister security agencies, raided the camp located in Orsu Local Government Area between February and this month.
The CP said: “The terrorists engaged the operatives in a gun battle but were ultimately subdued by the operatives’ superior firepower.
“During the operation, two terrorists were neutralised, while over 300 IEDs, gas cylinders and galvanised pipes as well as five exotic vehicles were recovered.”
