Residents of some parts of Lagos have been notified to brace up for a long period of scheduled power outage to enable engineers fix electricity infrastructure, and improve supply.
According to a public notice from the EKEDC dated March 15, 2026, the scheduled outage will persist for a period of five months beginning from Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The areas to be affected include FESTACT Town, Kirikiri, Army Signal Barracks, Ojo, Ajeromi, Agouju and surrounding communities.
The EKEDC said the power outage will, on a daily basis, commence at 9:00 am, and last till 5:00pm.

Dear Esteemed Customers,
This is to inform you that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will commence the rehabilitation of the Amuwo 132Kv Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation as part of efforts to strengthen the transmission network and improve power supply to our communities.
The utility company said the project commence on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, through an estimated period of five months. Each day, it continued, work will start at from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
It added that, as part of this important upgrade, the power transformers at the substation will also be enhanced to increase the capacity and reliability of power supply within the network.
During the rehabilitation period, feeders supplied from the station will experience load-shedding.
Where possible, supply will be provided through back-feeding arrangement, which may result in limited hours of electricity supply daily.
The utility firm expressed regret over the inconvenience its customers will suffer, arising from power cuts during the period of the project.
