The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a scheduled three-day power outage in the Lekki District of Lagos to allow for network upgrade works aimed at improving electricity supply in the area.
The electricity distribution company made this known in a statement issued to customers, informing residents and businesses that the temporary outage will affect Lekki and surrounding areas.
According to the statement, the planned power interruption will take place between Thursday, March 13 and Saturday, March 15, 2026.
The company stated that electricity supply will be unavailable daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the three-day period while the upgrade works are carried out.
In the statement addressed to its customers, EKEDC explained the reason for the planned outage.
“Dear Valued Customer, Please be informed that there will be a scheduled three-day power outage at the Lekki Injection Substation.
Date: 13th – 15th March 2026. Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM,” the statement noted
The electricity company further noted that the interruption is necessary to improve the power network and enhance service delivery to customers in the area.
“This planned outage is necessary to facilitate network upgrades aimed at improving operational flexibility, enhancing power evacuation, and delivering better service to our customers,” the statement added
The company confirmed that the power outage will affect Lekki and nearby communities within the Lekki District.
“Areas Affected: Lekki and surrounding areas (Lekki District).”
EKEDC also apologised to customers for any inconvenience the development may cause and appealed for patience while the upgrade work is being carried out.
