Fubara warns political appointees against unauthorized meetings

Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has threatened to sack any government appointee who convenes meetings without his authorization.

Fubara gave the warning on Thursday, during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, and Chief of Staff, Barrister Sunny Ewule.

The ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House in Port Harcourt.

Fubara stressed that the appointments are intended to advance the State’s development agenda, rather than create problems or serve as instruments of political patronage.

He further reminded Permanent Secretaries approaching retirement to prepare their handover notes to ensure smooth transitions.
