A 49-year-old UK man, Philip Young, has been charged with drugging and raping his ex-wife for over 13 years after appearing in court in Swindon.
Young is accused of carrying out the offences against the 48-year-old Joanne Young between 2010 and 2023.
The charges include multiple counts of rape, administering a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower to allow sexual activity, voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children, and possession of extreme images.
Young appeared at Swindon Magistrate Court on Tuesday, where he spoke only to confirm his name and address.
He declined to enter a plea and was remanded in custody until his next hearing at the Crown Court on January 23, 2026.
Police said five other men have also been charged with sexual offences against Joanne, who has waived her automatic legal right to anonymity.
According to Sky News, they are due to appear at the same court at 2 pm and are currently on bail.
The other defendants are: 47-year-old Norman Macksoni of Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, charged with one count of rape and possession of extreme images; Dean Hamilton, 47, of no fixed abode, charged with one count of rape, sexual assault by penetration and two counts of sexual touching; Conner Sanderson Doyle, 31, of Swindon, charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching; Richard Wilkins, 61, of Swindon, charged with one count of rape and sexual touching; Mohammed Hassan, 37, of Swindon, charged with sexual touching.
The alleged offences span from 2010 to 2023.
