Insecurity: NLC protest cripples Enugu

Socio-economic activities, on Wednesday, came to a standstill in Enugu as the State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) joined its nanation body in the planned protest against insecurity in Nigeria.

Reports said that leading the protest, the State NLC chairman, Comrade Fabian Nwigbo, lamented the high level of insecurity in the country.

He called on the government to enhance the protection of lives and property of its citizens.

President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, and others convened Wednesday morning on the Congress’ headquarters in preparation for the protest.

The NLC had announced it would launch a nationwide protest against insecurity in Nigeria.
