The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has announced that security agencies are making significant progress in locating the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls.
No fewer than 25 female students were abducted from the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga on Monday, during an attack by bandits.
In response to the incident, President Bola Tinubu had directed Matawalle to temporarily relocate to Kebbi State to oversee the rescue operations.
Matawalle, while speaking with journalists in Birnin Kebbi, said: “Intelligence available to us shows that we are almost close to those children.”
He also assured the Kebbi State governor that the Federal government are fully ready to work with the State to rescue and bring the girls back home safely and reunite them with their families soon.
