No fewer than 60 medical professionals from Europe and America are expected in Anambra
soon for this year’s annual free medical mission in the State.
Leader of the group and President of Anambra State Association Worldwide (ASA-World), Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze who disclosed this at his home town of Abagan in Njikoka Local Government Area, said that on arrival, the medical professionals would carry out free medical tests and diagnostics in various parts of the state and dispense drugs to the patients.
Anakwenze who is also the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, as well as Medical Director of Global Care Medical Group based in USA, said their mission in the State is part of their determination to assist the less privileged who cannot afford their medical bills after receiving treatments in public and private hospitals.
He disclosed that while coming, the team would assemble modern medical equipment and drugs to ensure effective realization of their objectives for embarking on the mission.
Nwachukwu who is the
Traditional Prime Minister (Onowu Abagana) identified corruption and inept
leadership on the part of both the present and past administration in Nigeria
as the major factors hindering the growth and progress of the nation.
He regretted that while in the developed countries, such as the USA, their
leaders are fighting for economic emancipation of their citizens, Nigerian
leaders, both past and present, are swimming in the ocean corruption and inept
leadership, adding that it was the same corruption and inept leadership that
destroyed the youths and pushed them into social vices.
He, however, urged other Nigerian citizens in the Diaspora to imbibe the think-
home philosophy of the Willie Obiano administration, adding that it was the
same philosophy that drove him into the establishment of a scholarship
foundation that is currently benefiting about 40 persons. He had equally
established a pure water factory, embarked on aquaculture and piggery farms in
Abagana, which have so far given direct employment to over 80 youths and
indirect employment to over 1,000 others.
