* Donates N50m to IDPs in Niger State
National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, held consultations with former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, at his Hilltop Residence in Minna, Niger State.
The meeting, which lasted for about one hour, also had Niger State governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, in attendance.
Tinubu’s visit to Babangida was after he left the Niger State Government House where he donated N50 million to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the State.
Tinubu, after the meeting, told journalist that he visited General Babangida as part of the consultation for his presidential bid.
“You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy, I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the presidency of the country; we are running a democracy.
“When I made the declaration, I told you that I am still consulting, and I will consult as widely as possible. That is what I am here for. So, he gave me his prayers.”
Tinubu said that he could not be in Niger State without paying a visit to Babangida.
Meanwhile, Governor Bello, on Thursday in Minna, endorsed Tinubu for President, come 2023.
Bello noted that the national leader of the APC ‘is a candidate to reckon with.’
The governor said: “We saw the foundation you laid in Lagos and we look forward to seeing you replicate it for Nigeria.”
