2023: Peter Obi formally joins Labour Party

…As NNPP offers him VP slot

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Obi, has formally joined the Labour Party (LP), days after resigning his membership of the main opposition party

Obi made the announcement of his new part via his Twitter handle, Friday.

He tweeted: “I thank all Nigerians, especially our youths who have joined me in the mission of taking back and reuniting Nigeria.

“This project is yours and for the future of your children. I am just a facilitator,” he said.

Meanwhile, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has offered the former governor of Anambra State a ticket of running mate to the National Leader of the party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The party is also said to be wooing several lawmakers and aspirants from the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC), who feel dissatisfied with the processes of their primaries.

Nonetheless, sources said while the party was willing to give Obi the position of vice president, his followers are insisting on the presidential ticket, with Kwankwaso serving as his running mate.
