2023: Ohuabunwa woos Anambra PDP delegates, promises to prioritize rights of Nigerians if…

A presidential hopeful on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, in continuation of his consultations with delegates to the primary election, has promised to make the rights of Nigerian citizens a priority if voted President in the 2023 election.

The former Chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) said this on Saturday, during his interaction with the party delegates and stakeholders in Awka, Anambra State.

During the session, Ohuabunwa took his audience through a thought-provoking rendition of his pedigree, a situational analysis of the country and his strategy, which he said would make Nigeria work for all the citizens.

“I observed in the course of my travels and engagements with people from different parts of the world covering 60 countries that there is a compelling need for Nigeria to choose the path of positive growth by creating enabling environment for sustainable development.

“The average Nigerian citizen, especially the youths has over the years been deprived of the fundamental human rights and dignity to associate and participate equitably in the Nigerian project, therefore I am poised to reverse this undemocratic trend with specific plans to restore human dignity and self-esteem.

“As the leading proponent of the New Nigeria Group, I am speaking from a position of strength with first hand knowledge of the Nigerian conundrum, the Igbo problem, as well as the right steps to reverse this ugly trajectory of redundancy that has consistently mitigated against our anticipated progress as a nation.

“PDP has demonstrated high-level commitment towards systematic reformation of the Nigerian State through specific policy options geared towards advancing the country to a globally competitive democracy that is capable of making the country more habitable and economically viable among the committee of nations.

“My experience as a one-time Chairman of Nigeria Economic Summit, among other private and public institutions I have either led or participated in, constitutes my driving force for a holistic reinvention and sustenance of our nascent democracy,” he said.

He, however, appealed to the party delegates to resist all forms of inducement and personal bargains that are seemingly inimical to the effective transformation of the country, noting that the best approach to the birthing of a new Nigeria lies in the people’s ability to inculcate the right political values that will drive the desired transformational process.

Ohuabunwa urged the party delegates to take a deep look at his achievements and antecedents in considering him side-by-side other presidential aspirants for the plum job, over for which he considers himself credible to undertake and actualize for overriding public interest by the grace of God.
