2023: Again, Peter Obi floors Atiku, Tinubu in latest mock presidential poll

The latest mock poll conducted by a public advocacy group – We2Geda Foundation – has placed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi ahead of the two other leading contestants – Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Obi also led in Anap Foundation test polls conducted a few weeks ago.

In fact, the test poll conducted by We2Geda Foundation sees Obi leading the other two contestants with about 51%.

The poll result was signed by Ibrahim Abdulkareem; Chairman, Board of Trustees of We2Geda, and Muna Obioha, a member of the BoT.

The group said 51 per cent of respondents suggested voting for Obi as their preferred candidate, 25 percent suggested voting for Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ranked third in the voter preference poll with 19 per cent.

“Further analysis also shows that Peter Obi remained a consistent favourite in four geopolitical zones namely North-central, South-south, South-west and South-east, while Atiku Abubakar was the poll leader in the North-east and North-west zones,” the group revealed.

We2Geda said Nigerians between the ages of 26 and 50 years constituted the highest number of respondents, which was a random survey with a total of 15,438 registered voters in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the 2023 general elections will start with the presidential polls on February 25.
