The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has disclosed the pressure being mounted on him by the people of his constituency of Delta South Senatorial District, to contest the senatorial seat in 2019.
Uduaghan made this known on Thursday when he played host to the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, at his Asaba residence.
“The good people of Delta South Senatorial District have been pressuring me to run for Senate in 2019; and I think it will be unfair for me to reject the proposal,” he noted.
There, Uduaghan went down memory lane to reflect on the Ibori Political Dynasty (IPD), describing it as one indivisible political family.
The former governor seized the opportunity to debunk the rumour that he was planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that Chief Ibori enjoyed the loyalty and support of the entire structure built nearly two decades ago.
James Ebiowou Manager, a PDP senator is the incumbent representing the region in the National Assembly.
Delta South is made up of communities such as Ethiope West, Okpe, Sapele, Udu and Aniocha. Others are Ika North East, Ika South and Ndokwa East.
