2019: Katsina’ll multiply Buhari’s 2015 votes next year – Marasi

Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari, has assured President Muhammadu Buhari of more electoral votes in next year’s presidential election than he got during the 2015 polls.

Masari said this on Saturday in Katsina, during a ceremony organized by the State APC chapter to receive politicians who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In the 2015 presidential election, Buhari got 1,345,441 votes, over and above former president Goodluck Jonathan polled 98,937 votes.

In his remarks, Masari while receiving the defectors, said their decision is a recognition of the good governance in the State.

He explained that the top politicians that joined APC did so out of their own interest, and they are ready to serve the people.

Masari said the reception of the prominent politicians into the APC is assuring and the party is better positioned for the 2019 polls.

“We are going to multiply the votes that we gave to President Buhari in 2015 during the forthcoming election of 2019,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of all the defectors, Sen. Ibrahim Idah, pledged their loyalty to the APC and promised to do their best to win more votes for the party in 2019.

Also speaking, the APC Katsina state Chairman, Alhaji Shitu Shitu, said both new and old APC members were going to be treated equally.

Shitu assured that there would be no discrimination in the ruling party.

Thousands of people defected during the special grand reception.
